Creative Direction.
As Creative Director Hannah has lead large teams from initial ideation to opening and beyond. As Creative Director for Bompas and Parr Hannah is currently leading the creation of the immersive Museum of Shakespeare, a new cultural landmark situated on the site of the archeological remains of the Curtain Playhouse, where some of Shakespeare’s most famous plays were first performed. For Layered Reality she lead a 100 strong team in the creation of the 5 star reviews ‘Gunpowder Plot’ immersive experiences in vaults that are part of the Tower of London’s world heritage site. The immersive theatre/ VR crossover project will sit inside the Unesco recognised venue indefinitely, ad opened to are reviews in 2022.
Hannah’s immersive/ VR/ crossover projects and events include adapting Orwell’s famous novels ‘1984’ and ‘Down and Out in Paris and London’ for an immersive environment in which well known stars read the entirety of the books over a single day. ‘Down and Out’ debuted in London, before transferring to Paris.
Hannah was also Creative Director for In Someone Else’s Shoes, commissioned by the Barbican.
Theatre.
Hannah trained at RADA, the National Theatre Young Directors Course and the Donmar Warehouse where she was Resident Assistant Director, before going on to Associate direct productions for the Donmar in Manchester and New York. She was also Associate Director to John Malkovich on his London production of ‘Good Canary’.
Hannah has directed for theatres across the world, with productions in Toronto, Switzerland, Istanbul, Copenhagen, Paris and more. In the UK she has directed for the Trafalgar Studios, the Young Vic, Liverpool Everyman, the Soho Theatre, Bristol Old Vic, Traverse Theatre Edinburgh, West Yorkshire Playhouse, the Park Theatre and others. She has worked with actors including Brian Blessed, Mark Gatiss, Tobias Menzies, Dame Harriet Walter, Lena Headey, Ralph Ineson, Daniel Kaluuya, Anne-Marie Duff, Mackenzie Crook and Les Dennis amongst others.
Games.
Hannah is one of the UK’s leading performance directors for games. Hannah has directed per-cap/ mo-cap, face-cap and voice for many of the world’s biggest titles, including Final Fantasy XVI, multiple Forza titles, Fable and other world leading games. She is currently Lead Performance Director on cult game Alan Wake II. Her work as Lead Performance Director helped ‘Control’ (Remedy Games) achieve 11 Bafta nominations, and multiple Game of the Year Awards. She has directed performance for titles including ‘Forza Horizon 4’, ‘Fable’, ‘The Witcher’, ‘Lego Ninjago Movie Video Game’, ‘Star Wars’, and others.
Theatre Uncut.
Hannah established international new writing theatre company Theatre Uncut in 2011, commissioning and developing scripts from over 50 writers. working with some of the world’s best known names including Jack Thorne, Dennis Kelly, Lucy Kirkwood, Caryl Churchill, Mark Ravenhill, Inua Ellams, David Greig, Tanika Gupta and many more. Now lead by Emma Callander, Theatre Uncut releases its scripts right free to allow performances to happen all over the world, and now works in 25 countries over 4 continents, with more than 8000 participants. The Theatre Uncut Political Playwriting Award is run in partnership with the Young Vic, the Traverse, the Sherman and the Lyric Theatre, Belfast.
